THE STORY
| Introduction
|
The Story will show the events that led up to William
Wallace's participation in the Wars of Independence of the late 1290s and early
1300s; the pivotal role he played in the fight for Scotland's freedom at a time
when English King Edward I wanted Scotland as nothing more than a
province of England; what happened to Wallace during his struggle; how he
came to die in London in 1305. It will also tell of the aftermath,
when those who followed him, particularly Robert the Bruce, secured Scotland's
independence at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314.
